He knew it was just a test and had the ability to stop it whenever he wanted, and he still thought it was torture. I wonder if he ever imagines what it would be like to have this done repeatedly *without* the ability to throw the little toy and get them to stop?

He does totally get credit for going through with it and admitting it's torture afterwards, though.

Actually, I wonder if the terrorists were waterboarded the same way? Basically, volunteer to lie down on this plank, we're not going to tie you down in any way, and once you've had enough we're going to give you this little toy cow to throw so we know to stop. Because there just might be a slight difference between being waterboarded for 6 seconds and 2 minutes...
