I have a Manitou Black Comp fork that works awesome except.... That it sounds like the the coil springs are squeaking. It does it really bad when it is in 100mm mode. I figured I would just download the service manual. But the fork I have was sent in for service and when they sent it back they put new left and right side internals in and not where they originally were. The travel adjuster is now at the top of the fork now. So basically all the internals don't match what the manual says. I already put grease in the ports. It mixed with the oil and is now at the bottom of the fork. If I turn the bike upside down it does help for a while. Anyone know any tricks to fix this annoying little problem. Also simple instruction for servicing the fluid flow cartridge would be helpful........jdcamb

Did you d/l the Service Guide, or the manual? Try calling or emailing Manitou. They have responded to my requests.

Contact Info

I have both. They do not represent what I actually have... I also called Manitou and they are confused as to what I actually have and were kind of jerks and put me on hold for 17 minutes?? They gave me the name of a local shop and I used to have a relationship with and has ended (they dissed one of my Bros). So my choices are: get help here, send it in to them$$, or live with it. Fluid flow crap I can figure out. I am going to try a thicker greasel at the top of the springs. My question to them (Manitou) is why have injection ports to put lube into the fork if it is going to mix with the oil, breakdown, and then be useless? Maybe it would work if I had a normal Black.... But I got the freakshow fork I guess.....jdcamb
