you may have herd about it already, but heres some more info.

The Hayes Bicycle Group is pleased to announce the official release of the
2010 Manitou “Big Top” sponsorship program. Under the Manitou
sponsorship tent are number of new athletes and event sponsorships
primarily focused on DH and DJ categories. Manitou would like to officially
welcome Steve Romaniuk, Mike Kinrade and Garett Buehler to the 2010
program. Manitou also supports the 2010 Freeride World Tour as these three
riders will be competing.

Steve Romaniuk: Steve needs no introduction as he keeps the free in
Freeriding and has a huge 2010 season planned. Manitou is pleased to be
working with Steve. [ The dorado has a ] “Bottomless supple feel, biggest
noticeable difference from the competitor’s fork this fork turns the roughest
sections into a walk in the park. Point it through and you will be just fine and
the look of this fork turns more heads and truly boasts its price in shine.
Whatever kind of bottom out bumpers you guys use are unreal... still
debating if I have even bottomed it out.”

Mike Kinrade: Mike has been invited to every Red Bull Rampage even since
its inception, enough said. “The Dorado is absolutely the best feeling fork
I've ever used, and I couldn't be happier. It just works in every condition.
Manitou has outdone themselves in re-introducing the inverted fork back
into the market. Time to send it kids!”

Garett Buehler: Fresh like a daisy and ripe like a surfer this kid could
podium in every discipline on the Freeride World Tour and that’s his plan.
“I’m excited to run Manitou goods this season, its cool to be with a company
who really cares, and is stoked on the athletes they’re supporting. The new Dorado is feeling slick and I couldn't be happier, it’s sweet to have
confidence in equipment when going into events like Rampage in the fall."

The 2010 Dorado Pro comes in 7050 aluminum legs and utilizes the same
premium internals as the Dorado MRD carbon version. With the added
strength of the 7050 aluminum legs, it’s now proven Freeride fork. Along
with proven TPC+ damping, the fork has a plush top-out coupled with a
unique hydraulic bottoming ramp-up that makes the fork feel bottomless. It’s
the perfect fork for these three Freeride superheros.

Spec:
Weight: 6.55lbs
Travel: 180mm/203mm in 26”
175mm in 29”
Chassis: Alloy Legs & Crown
Spring: Dual Air Chamber
Damper: TPC+
Hub: 20mm Hex Lock
MSRP: $1,749 in 26” & $1,799 29”

The 2010 Dorado Pro was designed and tested in California and North
Vancouver and is handmade in our Wisconsin facility. The Hayes Bicycle
Group will continue to offer a one-year service program which allows riders
to return their fork for factory service and inspection at no charge (specific
rules apply to factory service). All race support at the Hayes race truck will
remain free of charge as we continue to support race teams, free riders and
privateers.

Manitou is proud sponsor of the FMB World Tour.

Seems like some good things happen at manitou. Though they need a freeride sc fork. TPC+ and their arc design works very nicely so I don't see why they have discontinued the sc travis and put nothing on its place.

There's only one reason I'm not a fan of the reverse arch and that's because the mfg. is forced to increase the A-C distance so that the arch doesn't hit the downtube at or before topout. With everyone (including myself) wanting to keep the front end reasonably low the reverse arch becomes the limiting factor in the design. It works well don't get me wrong but it is a bit of an Achilles heel in the design IMO.

Thumbs up to Manitou for supporting the sport and some of the funnest riders to watch!

Foward arch singlecrown would be sweet to see! High ride height these days seems like it would kill the fork's success right from the start.

edit: Not to mention, the reverse arch kinda seems like a gimmick. I know they say it makes it stiffer, but I don't see many people complaining about the "normal" arches.

Forget the arch but still no fr fork. No affordable dh fork either. You get am stuff and then you jump strait into top of the line prices of the dorados while rs at the same time is making 2 lines of fr forks that both are cheaper plus the lower end boxxers and domain dc.

Does no one at Manitou realise that all they need to do is put a TPC+ damper in a normal way up fork with the arch at the front and sell it for cheaper than a Boxxer Team. They would be on to a winner. The reason no one else sells UD forks or forks with reverse arches is because thay have big drawbacks.

If only I was in charge things would be much better.

Is there really only a 70g difference between the alloy & carbon Dorados?
correct, the Carbon fork still has an alum sleeve on the inside of the carbon legs.

Also the 2010 clamps are lighter then the 2009 clamps, drilled out more to save weight. I currently have 2010 clamp on my 2009 carbon legs and its pure sex!

yea i have a prototype drop right now, i believe its a -1mm drop as of now. the production one will be different and lower and will only be a drop, wont be flip flop.

Ive had a hand full of rides on the new stem and im really enjoying it. strong, stiff (on the heavy side but thats because its a proto its about 30 grams heavier then the current Answer stem.) I should be getting the new Pre-production stem pretty soon, ill post pictures up when i get it on the cycle.
