i'm a MAsshole!!!
so anyone got any new info on the 2005 manitou line-up? i'm looking to sell the stock jr.t on my bighit and upgrade to the slider plus. anybody got some tentative release dates? would it be worth the wait for 05 stuff? someone said something about the 05 spv being much smoother. was this based on personal experience?

Manitou is really hitting a fantastic pricepoint in the past couple years. The Slider+ has the chassis and damper of a top race fork, priced below a Super T.

With this lineup, they're hitting even closer to home. I bet this will take a huge chunk out of the Marzocchi Jr. T sales - not that the Jr. T is a particularly bad fork, but the TPC+ damper is worlds better than the simple ported damper.

It's not very often you'll see people excited over a fork aimed at a budget pricepoint. When was the last time you saw a thread titled "Hey, look at the new Junior T!"?!

Manitou has stepped up in the last couple years. Good for them! :thumb:

I am sure these forks will sell great and to be honest if anything they will put a dent in the Sherman sales. TPC+ works great and the current SPV is okay at best. Now if the new '05 SPV is way better, that will change things. I feel like my 6" Slider was "smoother" than my 7" Slider+ by about 25%.
Anyhow, I think the Stance line looks good and the prices look great! It really is amazing to think what we would have paid for this level of products just a few years ago...

this whole "SPV evolve" thing (thats what the new spv is called) keeps reminding me of the shimano biopace rings

quick flashback to the early nineties....

shimano launches a new form of chainring called "BIOPACE" that isnt round  and say that this is the way to go, everybody jumps on the bandwagon (not everybody but close), but after a year the product isnt so hot anymore because its becoming evident that any theorical performance gains arent really translating into the real world.

so, shimano launches "BIOPACE HP" the second generation biopace that is supposed to be more efficient, so whats this chainring like?
you guessed it, its ALMOST ROUND!

needless to say, there was no "BIOPACE HP2", the year after shimano went back to round chainrings, so did everybody else.

cant wait to try one of the spv evolve forks!

answer is giving out new (and improved) seals for the air assist. i jsut got mine and i need to put it in. one thing that we all have to remember is that we bought a new fork from a company and with any new product there are teething problems

kinda like the Z150 which had 3 different generations in the same year( and they will not tell you that)
