I recently bought a new Swinger 4-way as a backup shock for my 7point7 (Came with a 5th Element). I got a really good deal on it that's why I bought it. But while trying to test it on the bike I immediatly notice that the eyelet size seemed different. That got confirmed after a few click on the net.
Seems Manitou is using metric size 12mm, as others (Fox, Progressive, Marzo) are using imperial size 1/2" (12.5mm).
I started looking on the net for the right reducers for the shock, and came to the conclusion that it would probably cost more to get the proper reducers than the price I paid for the shock!
So I was thinking, do you think it would be fesable to enlarge the diameter from 12mm to 12.5mm? I could then use Fox DU bushing that I have in stock, and use the same reducer kit that came with the 5th.
I would be going to a machine shop for this task.
Suggestions?
