So I'm swapping out my 4-way for a 6-way, and need to get the spacers in each eye out of the 4 way in to the six way. The frame side spacers came out just fine using bare hands, but I suspect that the swing arm side is slightly bent.

On top of that, the 6-way already has some more narrow spacers in it that I need to get out. These are brand new, but won't budge.

I'm considering using a set of channel locks or a robo grip or a vice grip to get them out but the metal seems a little soft. I don't care about the smaller spacers, but I would like to keep my originals intact. Any ideas, tips or tricks that anyone has for getting these things out easily?

I'm sure there's a better way, but I just use a shop rag to prevent the gouge and wiggle/twist em out.

you may want to try putting a pliable piece of rubber between the Robogrip and the spacers. You may find something at a Dollar store, like those round rubber things people use to grip and open jars with. If you cannot find anything try this method but you still may cause some cosmetic scarring. I start by using a thin screwdriver, then switch one with a wide blade and wiggle it seperating the washer from the shock, then switch to pliers by turning the washer round in circles while pulling the washers out at the same time.... good luck
