So, he's missing, wife doesn't know where he is but isn't worried about his safety.

edit: Just reread that. Wife says she isn't concerned. Which can also mean, "I don't care where the rat**** is, hopefully he's dead!"

It's gotta be a sex scandal or rehab, I think.

My guess is that he's at a Christian "Pray away the gay!" camp. Must be nice to just **** off for four days as a governor though...

Ahh, my state. . .

Sanford is quite literally evil scum. He denies funding for education in the state that's ranked 49th in education. He denies funding for a bankrupt unemployment system when he owns payday loan business all over the state. He does these things for no reason other than his presidential ambition. He hopes that he can oppose the stimulus the way Obama opposed the war in Iraq, and if it fails, he'll be a shoe-in in 2012. The problem with that is that war kills people and an economic stimulus gives people food and shelter and education.

He's a corrupt wet-fart of a politician who willfully disappears and leaves his family and state for four days without security or communication. Now, I'm all about alone time and reflection and all that s**t, but if you've elected to be a career politician, you have given up your rights to solitude. Now he claims that he's been hiking the Appalachian Trail. I call Bull***t.

I need to ride...

Man this gets wwwaaaayyyy better...apparently he went to Argentina instead.

Sanford told The State he was alone on the trip to Argentina. He declined to give any additional details about what he did other than to say he drove along the coastline.

If he was actually the driver, hats off to him. I've never seen anything like Buenos Aires drivers. There's no way in hell I'd drive 10 feet in that city. Not to mention, the article goes on to say that there is only 2 miles of coastline in the city so to get to the real coastal road, he'd have to drive 4 hours of inland highway.

It's kind of funny that his presidential bid is completely ruined because of a stupid stunt like this.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday he's been having an affair with a woman he visited on a secret trip to Argentina and said he'll resign as head of the Republican Governors Association.

Sanford, a rumored 2012 presidential candidate, refused to say whether he'll leave office.

"I've let down a lot of people, that's the bottom line," Sanford said at a news conference. He said he's known the woman about eight years, but their relationship turned into something more a year ago while he was on an economic development trip to Argentina.

seriously though, there has to be some logical and sound explanation on why **** like this is so prevalent on the american conservatives. **** like this just doesnt happen randomly so many times. this all has to be rooted somewhere.

its definately not just rooted on the whole gay hating thing. apparently it has little to do with the defense of family values or religious things. if so, then whats left????

do the right to bear arms outweight all this crap the american conservatives have to turn a blind eye on? they cannot possible be so single minded.
is it religion? some of the nicest, but also the skankiest of the skankiest and the most ****ed up women ive ever met (and ive met a fair share of crazy ones from a lot of places) came coincidentally from nutjob conservative american families.

Statement from First Lady Jenny Sanford

I would like to start by saying I love my husband and I believe I have put forth every effort possible to be the best wife I can be during our almost twenty years of marriage. As well, for the last fifteen years my husband has been fully engaged in public service to the citizens and taxpayers of this state and I have faithfully supported him in those efforts to the best of my ability. I have been and remain proud of his accomplishments and his service to this state.

I personally believe that the greatest legacy I will leave behind in this world is not the job I held on Wall Street, or the campaigns I managed for Mark, or the work I have done as First Lady or even the philanthropic activities in which I have been routinely engaged. Instead, the greatest legacy I will leave in this world is the character of the children I, or we, leave behind. It is for that reason that I deeply regret the recent actions of my husband Mark, and their potential damage to our children.

I believe wholeheartedly in the sanctity, dignity and importance of the institution of marriage. I believe that has been consistently reflected in my actions. When I found out about my husband's infidelity I worked immediately to first seek reconciliation through forgiveness, and then to work diligently to repair our marriage. We reached a point where I felt it was important to look my sons in the eyes and maintain my dignity, self-respect, and my basic sense of right and wrong. I therefore asked my husband to leave two weeks ago.

This trial separation was agreed to with the goal of ultimately strengthening our marriage. During this short separation it was agreed that Mark would not contact us. I kept this separation quiet out of respect of his public office and reputation, and in hopes of keeping our children from just this type of public exposure. Because of this separation, I did not know where he was in the past week.

I believe enduring love is primarily a commitment and an act of will, and for a marriage to be successful, that commitment must be reciprocal. I believe Mark has earned a chance to resurrect our marriage.

Psalm 127 states that sons are a gift from the Lord and children a reward from Him. I will continue to pour my energy into raising our sons to be honorable young men. I remain willing to forgive Mark completely for his indiscretions and to welcome him back, in time, if he continues to work toward reconciliation with a true spirit of humility and repentance.

This is a very painful time for us and I would humbly request now that members of the media respect the privacy of my boys and me as we struggle together to continue on with our lives and as I seek the wisdom of Solomon, the strength and patience of Job and the grace of God in helping to heal my family.

whether it was a female or not, would not make this any better. if anything, if it was a tranny it would just make it more funny....

not suggesting liberals dont have this sort of problems, but considering the image conservatives paint on themselves, one would imagine them to be very very underrepresented.
