Hey everyone, which would be a better shock to go on my 1999 Mongoose SX 4.3? I do mostly mountain riding. THis shock will be experiencing jumps, bumps and high speed mountain declines.

My choices are either a 100mm Marzocchi 22 R or a Dart 3 100mm. I use v-brakes. The Marzocchi is $10 cheaper than the Dart so price isn't an issue here either way. THanks!

None of these.

Get a used fork, RS tora or MX pro (marzocchi), they are both good forks.

The Dart 3 has a number of issues and is definitely worth avoiding.

1. It completely locks up in cold weather.
2. It is beyond easy to blow the o-ring and have to send it in for a warranty.
3. The lockout is only partial-- even when fully "locked-out" there is a great deal of travel in the fork.

I would second the suggestion to go with the RS Tora. Get it used and it will be the same price as a new Dart 3, but is much more reliable and an overall better piece of equipment.
