7" ... 05's got a 150mm fork so since the only changes were minor from 04-05 I was pretty sure the 170mm would ride ok .. and it does. BB height changed from 13" to just under 13.5"

I'm pretty sure I won't break the 66 like I did the EXR Pro the bike came with.

NICE fork by the why how is that bighit working out for you?
Absolutely loving it, only thing I'm still planning to change is going to a 8" x 2.5" rear shock to take it to 6.1" of rear travel instead of the 5.5" it has now.

Never had a chance to use it for downhill since I live in flat azz Houston, but for urban stuff I love it.

Nice fork, but how was handling affected? Going from 100mm to 170mm had to have slackened it out quite a bit.

that fork was ment to hadle at speeds thats why it doesnt feel that nimble when your just playin around in your yard. give that thing some steep **** and you will see how nimble that thing is. ohh and it looks sweet on that bighit. :thumb:

and dude if you work part time at a bike shop why didnt you get like the bighit comp or something a little bit nicer. but thats just one mans opinion so. if you like the geo and the way the bike feels thats okay. more power to ya i was just wonderin.

well that makes a lot of sense. and i would deffinatly say get the comp. cause you get a better frame and better perfomance. and your son gets a bike and the more mtbers there are in the world the happier and better this world will be

It seems like that for almost cost more than the stock bike...........

Nice though
Yeah, nice upgrade....rather than putting more money into a shock wouldn't it be more reasonable to just purchase the big comp? Not a knock on the rig...just seems like it would be easier to upgrade the frame for just a bit more than buying a new shock. Anyway, it looks nice...

Not at dealer price or EP. Shops gotta keep their employees some how :)

The SPEC is a simple and very cool bike, with a few upgrades it's a really good bike.
