I have a 2003 Z1 FR Bomber with ETA. I think I bought the correct conversion cap. I bought the first one on the list in the link.

The site says "Some caps convert Marzocchi non air forks to air forks". I've heard I could use it with the coil sprung cartridge to give the fork an air assist.

Should I be able to thread this into the leg and onto cartridge at the same time? The cap will scew into the leg but the threads on the cartridge are to big for the conversion cap. Were the cartidge threads smaller in 2002 than 2003?

Anybody have any luck with these? I either have the wrong conversion cap or this just won't work in th first place.

Thanks

I have a 2004 Z150 with the 'air assist'. It is nothing but a preload - 0-15psi. Can't really tell any difference.

It does screw into the top of the damper. Be very careful as the torque spec on mine is around 2 inch/lbs, and they cost quite a bit to replace.
