Anybody running just air in their coil fork?
I normally run one spring and <5PSI in my '06 Z1 Sport (I weigh about 160 in gear). Today I pulled out the spring and aired up each leg to about ~15-20 PSI each (I have a valve in each top cap on my fork). The manual recommends not using more than 15PSI in each leg, but I did not blow anything out on the trail.
Compared to the spring setup, the air feels like it actually had a more linear mid-stroke, which alleviated some issues I had earlier with the fork packing up. I also messed slightly with the dampening, so that may have had some effect too.
Tomorrow I am going to try pulling out some oil to increase the air volume. I wonder what the fork weighs now
