Yeah, I read that. I dunno what to think about mtbr - it's always:
Review 1: This fork rules
Review 2: Worst fork ever.
Review 3: Best I've ever ridden.
Review 4: I broke mine the first day.
Review 5: My first one lasted 37 years.
Etc, etc.

I am having problems with a MX comp w/eta right now.
I wish I went for the external valving because i'd probably use it though i wouldn't reccomend eta to anyone. I would reccomend RS instead.
Sorry it is just that my fork has been getting serviced since mid july and it was broken within a short period of time...most of the time i rhode it while the eta was just broken.
I would strongly reccomend against the purchase of that fork.
especially since i could be waiting until sepetember to get it back fixed.
Get a Duke Race with the Black Box or something...
i bought it in march. the weather sucked til april.
i rhode it for two weeks in april then i did something to my ankle.
i rhode it in may...but it stopped working so i changed my oil.
it was ok for one ride then it malfuntioned again. (some details were not told either)
june was too hot to really ride so i got in about 6 niterides. I was bored of riding because i couldn't climb anymore.
i just stopped riding so much.
i am livid...but i need to ride safe. there was a real stutter and cornering problems with the fork and it caused me to wipe out on pavement at one point. I think i broke my hip or cracked it because of the problem. It doesn't feel the same anymore.
so the lowers shiftered and i had damping problems which i think directly resulted due to eta. I am not sure. if they had confirmed it by now then i'd know...but i have to keep waiting.
i would not wish this on anyone.
i think that i may also have to consider buying a new fork if it comes back, then does this again. I wish i would have spent a few dollars more for a fox shox or something is all i can keep saying even though i have been superloyal to marzocchi for my last two forks now.
if you want to stay with them at this point...if you can wait til next season, then ok.
that is my overall reccomendation. this year was just too experimental for them.
I had the MXC pro on my Enduro when I bought it. I wasn't too thrilled with it. I had problems setting air pressure, on of the needle valves was messed up even after getting it replaced once. I never got close to the full 4" of travel that the fork was supposed to have. I replaced it with a Psylo SL and like it much better.
I got back my fork today. The service at Norco was phenomenal. Yes I would reccomend the purchase of a marzocchi fork because they stand behind their product. That is the difference right there.
Sure my ETA issues were for real but they gave me a receipt today and said if it happens again they will keep fixing it for one year. They gave me an aluminum lever for the ETA for free also. Plus new oil.
So there you have it.
three thumbs up on this one. It has been an emotional rollercoaster for 15 days with shipping. I guess that means that I LOVE it alot.
Thanks for the update - glad to hear it worked out. Another question: Will I need a special shock pump for this fork, or will any old shock pump do the job?

I've had my MX Comp w/ETA since last Oct and really love it. It hasn't given me any trouble at all and I love the ETA feature. It really helps to lower the front end when cranking up super steep climbs, but still gives you a tad bit of suspension to help roll over stuff.
those guys at marzocchi are something else. They told me that they replaced the oil when they rebuilt it.
I don't like the golden spectro because it breaks down to fast and it doesn't have the high resolution anti-stiction and resistance to thermal breakdown that BARDAHL has.
So I pulled apart my fork today just to make sure things look right. They did replace the entire eta cartride and poured Golden Spectro in the left and the Bardahl in the right side remained.
Sure I tipped it and removed the spectro. I changed the right side too just because you never know what kind of containers they may have used when they rebuilt the fork.
The only weird thing that i noticed is that there are little lumps in each stanchion as if they reassembled the crown and the pressure used on the stanchion tubes caused this.
It looks weird. If I break a stanchion tube after this I am going to really be angry.
great service...but squonky as heck when it happens to me...
