I've got an older Marz. Qr20 hub, think it's a 99 or 00. The older ones have an integrated axle spacer, 20mm axle that is secured by two outer sleeves with allen bolts. Has anybody ever tried to push out that axle/sleeve and just use a std 20mm axle. I want to use this on my shiver.

I asked the same question.
You have to tap out the axle with the pressed in bearing to remove the axle completely. The sleeve is a spacer between the dropout and the bearing, it doesn't really hold the axle in. The axle has thicker flanges in the middle that lock it in the bearing cartridges.

What I noticed though, is that the axle is just slightly thicker right where the bearing cartridge rides on it. This means the axle goes from 20mm to something like 20.01mm. This may or may not cause a problem if you want to run a true through axle through those bearings.

So to see if it will work, pop the axle and re-press the bearing into the hub and slide the through axle in, then check for play.

Hope this makes sense, please IM me when/if you find out, I am a getting a new Z1 and I want to know if I can use my old hub too!
