I have an '03 Monster T and need to replace the seals. Unfortunately, Marz no long makes any assembly/disassembly docs available online (or to consumers).

I just got off the phone with a Marz Tech Support guy who told me that I need some "special" tools to take the fork apart. This seems to be in conflict with others mentioning that Marzocchi seal replacement is a piece of cake (albeit messy).

Which is it?

I am not 100% about 03 and newer Monster's, but for 1st gen models, the seal change procedure is different than all other Marzocchi's. On monsters, you are supposed to replace the seals with the stanchions in the lowers, and the special press tool slides around the stanchion to press in the oil seal (must pull stanchions from crowns). The other special tool is a collar that allows you to pry the old oil seals out without messing up the lowers. I am not sure if either of these are really necessary, but I do know that the tools are rediculously expensive for what it is. I am sure most shops would not do it this way, but just pull the lowers off and press the new seals in. This is not the way marzocchi wants you to do it though.
