It's what I use because it's what my local Honda shop stocks. I've done some "after-the-fact" research and supposedly most fork oils from RS/fox/zoke are rebranded from maxima.

I run maxima in my 40, and well any other fork I happen to have to rebuild. I dont know if its any better or worse, it usually just what I pick up when Im at the moto dealer.

Have you read any of peter verdone's stuff? This lists the cst of most of the popular oils.

I got some from my local moto dealer, and it seems to be as stated.
I have to bump this...I need to rebuild my DHX and the nearest moto shop has maxima 10wt. cST looks like 37.4 with a VI over 100...is that kosher for the shock? I'd rather not pay 25 for the special stuff.
