So, what else is new with Maxxis besides the triple-durometer? I haven't heard of any new tire designs besides the ADvantange all-mountain tire.

So - you're saying that Maxxis is doing basically nothing new besides the new durometer (which could be rather cool).

The two people I have spoken to riding the new Minions (prototype) say no difference in performance when it comes to wear.
Supposedly, the team is getting through an entire day of practice without changing tires. Whereas they used to change at least once with ST. However while I did notice a small, small increase in wear compared to the ST. It was no silver bullet.
However, The ADvantage is probably the sickest tire I've ever ridden. I've got some 70a 2.1s on my hardtail and they corner better than any 2.35 I've ridden (Bling Bling, DHF, Larsen, Highroller, etc.). I'm begging them to make it in a 2.5 DH casing.
