reports from the London show last night:

From the Drowned In sound forum the decibel level was 129.8 (from the digital mixing desk) on the Friday and apparently it was louder last night. That is screamingly loud for a gig - and explains why they were handing out ear plugs.
A quick piece of research suggested that is the equivalent of "Military jet aircraft take-off from aircraft carrier with afterburner at 50 ft (130 dB)."
That is loud and sustained - both MBV gigs I have attended (20 years apart) are the loudest I've ever been to.
