looking for classic NE singletrack
there is a lot more recent data in most states.. did you not look?
So how is using even 1 month old data remotely relevant? The maps have McCain beating Obama in FL by 1 percentage point (44-43%) but the data is almost a month old (April 29th). South Carolina he's behind McCain by 3pts, but the data is from Feb 28th. You don't think anything might have happened in the past 3 months that might have changed that map just a little?

counting florida and michigan results in that chart invalidates it immediately.

I think Toshi was thinking the numbers were regarding the nomination voting?
how can you measure the will of the voters in states where not all the candidates in question competed or appeared on the ballot?

So much for the swing:

An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found a wide gap last week: Women favored Obama over McCain, 52% to 33%. The survey also found that voters who cast ballots for Clinton in the Democratic primaries preferred Obama over McCain, 61% to 19%.

Since our electorate has put Bush into office twice, I am deathly afraid of the electoral count.

The first win was a mistake, the second win was because no sitting pres has ever lost a reelection in a time of war (Not to mention a weak opponent). I think a lot of people thought GWB might actually do some good the second time.

Oops.
