Now I know this woman has been getting lots of sh*t. And she doesn't seem to handle the responsibilities to well. Numerous aids have resigned sighing they do not feel she has the experience needed to handle being the Mayor of the city. So, it comes to this. A rally asking her to resign. Are we gonna see more of this nation wide, now that it looks like the hip thing to do?? I mean, I haven't witnessed bread saran-wrapped to anybodies head yet but I wouldn't rule it out!

So she's in way over her head and she has an attitude problem. This should end well.
haha, that seems to be the case. I quoted this from one of the commenters of the article who was at the rally. I agree. But would this rally have happened if it wasn't for what has taken place in the Middle East? I'm not sure. Is this good or bad for society to weed out political figures this way? It would only be a matter of time till it got ugly. I mean, she was voted in.

I was at the rally also. It was an historic moment and unprecedented in the City of Harrisburg. More than 250 people showed up to voice their displeasure in the manner the mayor is handling herself. At first, there were few numbers and all of a sudden, the numbers exploded with people. About nine or ten Thompson supporters were there also. They appeared to be members of a holy roller church and acted accordingly. The chants grew louder and louder and people were wondering if Thompson was even there or if she would be bold enough to make a statement. There was a security camera on the front of the building and you could see it scanning the crowd and you could see people peeping out of the blinds in the mayors office. A professional minded politician would have made a statement or sent someone down and would have said something like, " I appreciate your concerns and realize that we have many problems to work on......" or something to that effect, but Thompson did something even better. To everyone's amazement, she had the blinds pulled back and started taunting the crowd! She did the thumbs down, mouthed "I am not going anywhere" acknowledged the holy rollers, did the raise the roof gesture, actually did the queen or princess hand wave and basically made a fool of herself. Her arrogance and immaturity at this point proved beyond a shadow of doubt that she has no ability to be in her position. In fact, it confirms all the accusations that Joyce Davis and Chuck Ardo have said about her. This woman has NO ABILITY and no clue how to deal with people. She showed it today in front of all the media. Sadly, it also questions her ability to deal with reality. I'm not sure I can say much more. I walked away feeling self conscious, like when you stare at someone in a wheelchair too long. It's not right to make fun of someone who is handicapped. That is what I walked away with. The only other thing I can add is feeling pity for a woman who is so trapped in her culture and religion that is makes her dysfunctional. Very sad.

Well, from the picture, at least she had James Brown there for support.

I'm sure Sharpton's on his way.

Well, to be fair, she did inherit one hell of a mess. The former Mayor spent the city's budget on a bunch of cowboy trinkets in a retarded plan to open a Wild West museum in Harrisburg, PA.

I mean really, when you think Wild West, you think of Harrisburg, PA. Right?

Really? Your going to try to draw parallels between pro-democracy riots in the middle east and a demonstration in buttfvck PA? Yea, because entire generations of oppressed people in Egypt by a totalitarian dictator totally equals 250 people in Harrisburg protesting a crooked mayor.

No. Exactly, that's the point! I just can't get myself to believe that this would have happened if they didn't get an idea from what they saw on tv the past few weeks. For what ever reason it didnt go down in Egypt last week, this wouldn't be happening either IMO. And I know it's two absolute entirely different entities but I think the common white racist and the word revolution go hand in hand and this Egypt exposure of the common man taking over the government is all these common white racist saw in Egypt. I know it wasn't a big protest which is good, but IMO it was only pushed by what they saw on tv. Coincidence or not??

I agree w/jasride. These people aren't bright enough to come up with an original idea, they need TV to tell them what to do.

They saw a riot and decided to imitate.

Well I don't know much about the area/mayor for sure. But if thats the case, they say in a democracy you get the government you deserve.

I am amazed you think American's have any empathy for the brown people they see on TV. Especially since our primary task is blowing their legs off.
