Former generation 36 uppers fits inside new generation lowers just fine. However newer uppers have longer stanchions and you won’t get full travel or stanchion showing even with the newer, longer air spring.
I know this because I tried and have finally settled on a new csu, lowers and air spring… should have bought a whole fork.
Well standard length 36 is too short
Thought about robbing a 40 damper shaft.
Im just making a male/female rod basically the length is the difference in length between a std 36 and the dc
I think my previous post came across that im making the shaft
Im just making two extentions.
The hope is that its better than a 38 in every way
Stiffer bar interface
Larger air spring and dual positive chambers (dsd runt) (also seperate negative)
1 1/8 steer for geo adjustment
Adjustable offset
Lower a2c per travel setting (and adjustable)
Less seal and bushing drag for a (possibly) similar stiffness to the 38
Rc2 damper as the grip is made of poo.
It looks like it will weigh about 50g more than a 38
