Lazy Bastids. You know where they are going with that. Gotta love getting those anecdotal stories. There's plenty of hard statistical evidence out there from insurance companies if they want to do some reporting. But, that's not a sexy as getting a few sound bites from somebody in a wheelchair.

Ya we in the AutoBusiness seem to be the media's second favorite target lately. Let me just trump a bunch of the stories now...
We try to make a profit at the dealership, we do this by selling cars, arranging financing, fixing cars, doing maintenance on cars, doing body work on cars, selling parts for cars (and the occasional accessory too!).
Here are some others...
SUVs do not handle as well as sports cars.
SUVs use more gas
Trucks and SUVS are more likely than a car to flip if they have a blow out or try to turn really fast.
More than likely if you get into a car accident someone may get hurt. If its a bad accident the chances are greater. The faster you are going the more likelyhood of an accident being bad.

A lumbering, HUGE gas-guzzling EVIL SUV attacked me without provocation.
The owner was nowhere to be found, and the incarnation of evil itself just came out of a parking lot and broad-sided my earth-friendly Toyota Prius.
Everyone in my car was killed except me.
I am a VICTIM and I want someone to PAY, you hear me?
I have lost the use of my arms and legs and am typing with a straw in my teeth.
Why, oh why is life dangerous?
Shouldn't I be safe from everything? I mean, I only buy earth-friendly products and love cuddly animals. I vote for Democrats.
Shouldn't that entitle me to special consideration here?
Anyway, since the government won't DO SOMETHING about these EVIL SUV's maybe, just maybe, you of the fourth estate can take up my righteous cause!
We must defeat these EVIL SUV's and rid the earth of them!
Only then will I find peace.
