Ok so I've recently loaded my entire music library into iTunes. Its around 23000 songs, and I've noticed that iTunes has slowed down a good bit since then. Could this be a software issue (in that iTunes just has issues handling larger amount of songs?) or is it just a memory issue?

This got me wondering, is there anything out there other than iTunes that is a good, smooth music player / music library manager? I've also noticed that iTunes seems to be getting bloated with a lot of crap I don't use.

I used to use winamp, but the lack of a music library management feature led me to switch to itunes. IIRC the last version of winamp i tried did have a library feature, but very, very poor memory management when it was loaded with large numbers of songs.

Unfortunately, foobar isn't ported for Mac.

How? I didn't code the program. Nor do I have access to the source code so I could port it myself.


Of all the computers I've owned, I've had the fewest problems with my Macbook. So suck it.
