if the weather gods agree there might be the chance for back to back weekend races here and in chile, where my magazine will be organizing another similar race.

the whole town is partying outside, tough call on joining them or listening to my body and getting some sleep, if i dont post tomorrow then you know what happened.

Gravity Bolivia is offering a tie-in with the Megavalanche Peru. I've done the scumbag tour they're talking about with them and it rocks! I've also ridden with the Chilean DH boys (and Bernie) in central and southern Chile and they rock too.

Does the idea of 2 weeks of every day bombing down 10,000ft vertical decents on crazy single tracks, in the South American Andes appeal to you? how about finishing off those two weeks with a Meagavalanche race (mass start downhill )? How about if this was some of best trails in the world and almost undiscovered?

To get an idea of the kinds of trails I am talking about check out the following links:

Overview of the types of riding.

A “gentle” Sunday ride

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interested? Well read on…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While out daily business is guiding travelers on a 64km Downhill ride on the worlds most Dangerous road, we love our single track and downhill racing.

This year as a chance to do something different we are going to run a special trip to build up to the first ever Megavalanche in South America which will be held in Cuzco, Peru (www.megavalancheperu.com). We are going to run a 10 day training trip (high altitude DH riding) featuring 10,000ft+ of vertical descent a day bombing down the craziest trails that the Bolivian Andes has to offer, then jeep over to Cuzco for the race.

We only have limited spaces for this trip, and they are going fast, but we are keen to offer XXXXXX riders an opportunity to come along. Because this trip is more of a co-operative fun trip we are doing it "scum-bag" style, ie barebones budget, cheap but good hotels, some camping, and more basic food than our usual (more expensive) luxury trips.

Interested individuals from around the world are invited, all that we ask for is some proof of riding ability so that the group can be cohesive in ability (ie email us mpegs or photos of the rider in action on some gnarly terrain to info@gravitybolivia.com). This adventure will be a full-boinger, full-face helmet, and teenage-mutant-ninja-turtle suit style adventure. Lycra-clad XC riders need not apply. The adventure will be all inclusive (accomodation, food, transport) but not include airfares to Bolivia/Peru or insurance or bicycles. We will be offering a tonne of coaching, practice, training, and all-out eye-ball-bleeding fun riding. For you guys this tour would cost about US$1250 for 15 days.

Part one is a DH/Free-ride bike tour in Bolivia incorporating 10,000ft/day vertical descents on some of the most beautiful single-track in the world ... and as yet pretty much undiscovered by anybody but us! This is high-altitude riding (my lounge is at 3600m above sea level and we start much higher than this for most of our rides) which will be excellent conditioning and acclimitisation for Part two. We would suggest that people arrived in La Paz on about the 11th of October. And then we would start this part on the 12th or 13th.

Part two is the Megavalanche race, this is in Cuzco which is a 12 hour drive from our base in Bolivia. This race is scheduled as follows:

Oct. 20
Tour to Machu Picchu (WE WOULD ARRIVE IN CUZCO THE DAY BEFORE)
18:00 pm – 22:00 pm Administrative Control. Delivery of numbers and track maps to participants
21:00 pm – 22:00 pm Movie of the track at the hotel lobby
Lodging at Sacred Valley of the Incas

Oct. 21
Breakfast
Track opening
Free training starting at 9:00 hrs
8:00 hrs. 9:00 hrs. 10:00 hrs. and 11:00 hrs. Bus schedule to Málaga (race departure)
14:00 hrs. Tour to Pisaq
8:00 hrs. – 19:00 hrs. Administrative Control. Delivery of numbers and track maps to participants
19:00 hrs. – 20:00 hrs. Movie of the track at the hotel lobby

Oct. 22
Free training starting at 6:00 hrs.
8:00 hrs. 9:00 hrs. 10:00 hrs. and 11:00 hrs. Bus schedule to Malaga (race departure)
8:00 hrs. – 19:00 hrs. Administrative Control. Delivery of numbers and track maps to participants
19:00 hrs. Technical meeting at the hotel. Explanation of track and control procedures. Movie of the track.

Oct. 23
8:00 hrs. – 12:00 hrs. Official training
14:00 hrs. Departure for race qualification. 100 participants every 30 minutes
18:30 hrs. Posting of qualification race results and order of departure.

Oct. 24
10:00 hrs. Departure places take off
11:00 hrs. Departure
16:00 hrs. Results and ceremony

On the 25th we would return to La Paz, and you folks could fly to Lima to fly out. You can find more details about this race here: http://www.megavalancheperu.com/eng/index.html

... basically we are pitching at talented DH and Free-ride amateurs who want to push their riding up a notch or four in stunning scenery on amazing trails in a wild part of the world ...

Contact us by Email ASAP, you only have 6 weeks to get your arse over here.
