The one most likely to get us all agreeing is the "n8- thimblecocked warrior of the apocolypse is f*cking off and never coming back" thread.

What is up with gas prices?

Regular is $3.11, diesel is down to $3.49 and my bus pass is STILL $2! Just 2 months ago it was $1.75, stupid Bush Admin.

lol @ u having to ride the bus.

:p
Who said I HAVE to ride the bus? I actually enjoy it now that I have my netbook because I get work (or school work) done and that is 3 hours less that I am in the office. In by 8, out by 3 and I'm good.

Working 8 to 3 has its advantages.

Ugh, someone dropped a wet dog food smelling olfactory nuclear bomb on a packed N express train this morning. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. :dead:

:stupid:

My bus commute home gives me a chance to unwind. A good book, my PSP or a nap never hurt. Plus the bus has internet access so I can work if I want to (almost never)

I wish we had wimax or something on the bus. The bus stops I use have open networks, so my waits are easy. I can tether my phone, but the connection isn't as fast as I would like most of the time on the ride.

It's a lot harder to surf porn while driving, that's for sure.

n8's getting all Mavericky up in this bitch!

He asked himself "What would a Maverick start a thread about" and then that's what he did.
no, it's only mavericky when you refer to yourself as a maverick, and your deeds as mavericks, and and how other people call you a maverick. something like:

maverick n8 said:
My friends,

I'm a maverick. My colleagues call me a maverick, and that's not always said in a kind word. But I am, and always will be, a maverick. So I got an email the other day from L'Opie, who reads this board from time to time, and he said "please, whatever you do, follow the party line and DON"T post a thread about gas prices."

Well folks, I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do: I'm going to post a thread about gas prices and how I'm a maverick for doing so, because that's what a maverick would do. My colleagues may not like it, but I'm not here to please them, I'm here to offer you a dialogue. Because I'm a maverick.

Let me try my hand at some N8 inspired logic...

Thus one can only conclude...Walmart makes you an idiot, and possibly conservative.

Perhaps its not walmart but McDonalds.

"There is a substantial, if imperfect, correlation between a map of the obese and overweight in the United States and maps of polling for the presidential race on websites such as RealClear Politics.

Of the 10 fattest states, nine show strong support for the Republican nominee, John McCain, with only Michigan - once considered a battleground state, but recently abandoned by McCain's campaign - as the exception.

Of the 10 least obese and overweight states, eight support the Democratic nominee, Barack Obama, although Colorado, where Obama is ahead by four points, is still considered a toss-up. The exceptions are the conservative mountain states of Utah and Montana.

The bigger picture reinforces this story. In the heaviest half of the 50 states, polls in 68 per cent show support for McCain. Of the lightest half of the states, plus the District of Columbia, 84 per cent are for Obama."

“It was so exciting,” said Pat Miller of Patriot, accompanied by her daughter Amber, a student at South Gallia High School. “She seemed to be very sweet, and if she could stop and take the time to buy some diapers for her son, it tells you that for her, family is first.”
brilliant thought process.

She's so mavericky. I mean, who buys diapers for their kid? Isn't that what the secret service guys are supposed to do? She did it HERSELF!

This must be the doings of the Republican's. But one question...

Why now?

:busted::twitch:

More so because of the recent gain in strength by the us dollar

Dollar strength has alot to do with it considering is priced in dollars. Check out this screen shot of the dollar against the euro on the right is the uso and october futures for ls crude. Im having a bit a technical issue right now otherwise I would overlay the graphs. You should notice that they track each other very closely.

Back at the summer highs it was 1.604 dollars/euro now its down to 1.3603 dollars/euro with a strong downtrend.

edit: picture resize fail. I also put in the oct future for crude so its not year against year, sorry. However the trend still shows when you look at USO United States Oil Fund vs EUR/USD.
