Me and my boy rode our bikes out to watch the Memorial Day parade with my mom. It was nice.
My rep. Mark Kirk came along early in the parade and after he walked by my mom says to me, "You may not like him, but he has done a lot of good things for Lake Michigan."
I said, "No he didn't. They were going to increase the pollution levels going into the lake, and he got them to not increase the levels. So in reality, he did NOTHING for Lake Michigan."
So I am telling my wife this story when I got home and she says, "You know, a politician who doesn't make things any worse, might be considered a success."
It's sad, but she is probably right, and that seems to be where the bar is set on our expectations... "just don't make things worse."
I forgot to ask him for the $42k back of my money that he gave to the banks. Is giving my money away making things worse? Sure the funk seems like it. God bless America™.
