Meteor Shower

Bonk

Mike Bloss, Hero
I'm just northwest of Chicago in the burbs.

DEFINATELY saw over 14 meteors, three VERY bright, short, and fast, and one VERY dim VERY slow moving one that lasted for almost 20 seconds...along with many many other possible meteors caught out of the corner of my eye. Thanks for letting people know. I really needed something like this tonight.

Well, I set the alarm for 2am to see these, and I was not let down. A real neat show.
wanted to see it but there's way too much light pollution to see the stars right around the city....

THat and REAL polution is pretty high right now. It is better near the ocean and above and below the sound. The puget sound has a stagnant pocket of polution clouding the skys too. Making it hard to see. I slept last night. :o:

I didn't even try. :(

always is, just the wind and rain usually blow it into the mountains.

living on the S.W. side of Seattle is just a smarter way to breathe.

We were watching it at Skeikampen in norway, were the latest ridepics in the "norway ridepics " thread are from.
It was really fantastic. It was a cold and wery clear night, just perfect. No light polution at all. Me and three others were sitting outside after the mtb nerdquiz talking into the night.
Perfect end of the evening.
