I just talked to a buddy who has been to Iraq twice and is still in the reserves, and was informed by his commander over the weekend that Mexico has in their possesion 3 American soldiers that they captured close to the border on the American side and we're in a standoff with them. My buddy told me they also had refresher courses in hand to hand combat instead of their planned Christmas party. Interesting.

I don't expect this to make the news as I'm sure many cowboys would not stand for this behavior.

Not sure if it is related to what has been going on now for a few weeks, but there have been a series of abductions all along the border.

Apparently informants and others who have "wronged" the drug cartels are being abducted and brought into Mexico and killed. One dude who was killed about 2 weeks ago was a soldier... apparently he was skimming the product (allegedly).
