NORCAL is the hizzle

I met this guy today in Fairfax CA. I was sitting outside a brew pub after a ride and saw his custom racks and stuff, then started a conversation. Turns out he is 64 years old and has been on the road for over a year. He had ridden from Oregon to Guatamala and was on his way home back to Oregon. He accepted my offer to buy him lunch. What ensued was one of the most interesting conversations ever. For just one example, I asked him for a highlight and he said "riding my bike to base camp No. 1 at Mt. Everest." Anyway, if you run into this guy say hello, he has done more living than most of us can fathom.

Today he is starting his ride from Marin to Tahoe. He said this is one of the hardest legs of his journey. He called it a "107 mile hill climb."
