Anyone know anything about this tire? Saw that my LBS has it listed without a picture yet. What kind of tread does it have, what's it weigh? Is it a Comp 24 Lite in UST or what?

Looks like a Comp 24, but I've never seen that tire.

I use the Comp 16 2.2/2.5 and love then. They are UST, but did not last long.

Please update us if you find out. A comp 24 lite UST (esp. if they made both 2.5 AND 2.2) would be fuggin' amazing out here in Cali for trailrides...

So it looks like a Comp24 Lite with the knobs that the DH racers trim off replaced by a narrower blade of a knob, just like a HotS. I guess the only differences are that the 2.2" is grey instead of black, and the rubber is a "dual compound." Someone please spend the time required to highlight the differences between these tires that justified Michelin adding a whole new tire to their line (or did they...?).

Suh-WEET. My Sovereign is going to have an All-Mtn extreme 2.5 up front, and possibly another in back or just the 2.2.

Hekki, have you ridden the tire at all? What pressures do you think it can safely run? I figure at 35 psi or so, it'd be a great ride, eh?

Havent really gotten to ride that thing yet. The ground was about 6 inches of mud with snow covering it when I got that tire. Maybe when I get home over the holidays the ground will be frozen enough to ride and not a ton of snow on the ground. But from my experience with UST and Michelins I have gone down into the low 20s on my dh bike and mid to high 20s on my slalom bike.

How's the sidewall look compared to 1) the DH and 2) the current HotS? I love my micchie DH, and loved the HotS (color aside) except for the damned tissue-paper sidewall. Tire was awesome, but it just got slashed to hell on its first two rides and I had to ditch it.

Yup, I can't run my Hot S 2.2 as tubeless anymore, cause the thin casing has too many holes in it now. The new tires are looking pretty good. :thumb:

Why do I have a feeling I'll be back to running the standard Comp 24, lol?

Seems to be the same (maybe alittle thinner) as the comp 24.1 lights. Its deffinately more burly than the comp S' that I have on my xc bike.

I just finally got a hole in the sidewall of my HotS 2.5 after a solid year! The tread is actually still decent too. There's no way I could say the same if I was still living in SB, the rocks would have devoured these things fast.

The 2.2 looks good, don't they already have a 2.2 folding UST tire with the comp 24 tread in all black?

I dont know if it is an official UST rated tire. But it is possible.
