Well you don't need to keep backing up the old stuff. I'd archive the existing 72GB on a few different bits of physical media stored in different locations and just cloud the new stuff. Google pictures gives you 15 GB gratis.

Hmmm... that's a good point. I'm pretty close to maxing out Google's free storage since we use Fi for our phones. So google is backing up our phone pics already. I have possibly not been thinking my approach to this stuff from the right angle.

Praise the FSM. Lake Del Valle which is a 15 minute drive from my house and is 8 miles long and up to 150' deep has been closed due to Covid since February , reopens to boats and fishing on Friday....kayaking here we come
