Wow. Industry 9's budget wheelset looks like a pretty good frickin' deal. Under $800 shipped in hand for what looks like a top quality wheelset minus the dentist color scheme.

Might still be cheaper to roll my own tho. Hmmmm.

I think the 1/1 hubs are pretty solid, more than enough engagement and cheaper than the hydras. The rims however seem to be made of some warm cheese. I run a set of them on my hardtail and the rear rim is rather wobbly and has several significant dents. The strange thing is that I have never pinch flatted while running some pretty lightweight Bontrager XR4s.

Thanks for that--I had read somewhere that the rims were solid.

I will prob just get some Hopes or even Bitex hubs and just build some. It's too bad, because I just got a set of RF Vaults laced to E13 LG rims that I really really like for 12x142 use...then I got a Boost frame unexpectedly. Running with a ghetto spacer kit for now. It actually seems fine. Maybe I should not worry about the inconvenience of the little spacers and just forget it for the time being.

I'm probably going to see if I can get the local machinist to do some custom end caps that would do away with the spacers, or at least get a way for some spacers to engage the end caps through castellation or something...

My local place claims to be a specialist at this if you get ultra desperate.
