thats what you get for living in a stupid county name.

in small southern towns, these recruiters live off the kids. its basically a sales job getting kids to sign up. these kids see it as a way out of their no where life.

say you are a recruiter.... and you sign up a bunch of teenagers for war, they get shipped, drive over a mine and get all blown up in 100 pieces.

how do you deal with that morally, does the "personal responsability" notion counts there too... or does it get replaced with "buyers beware"...

Don't ask, don't tell.

Honestly, 99.8% of recruiters have ZERO care (or reason to care) what happens once you ship to basic.

Does Joe Salesman call you up 2 months after you bought the car to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase?

Actually, yeah, mine did the last time I bought a car. He also wanted to remind me that the first two service appointments were free, and could be done at any Toyota dealer that was convienent for me.

well, one thing is to be dissatisfied with a product and another is to die or be crippled as a result of a "purchase".

i think its very morally objectable to be a recruiter for the US army/navy/af, where you know its extraordinarily likely the kids you get to sign will go to batlle, die or in the best case scenario be told to kill, most likely in immoral and unjustified wars, at some point.

And they get to golf. If they get blown up, they are just golfing in heaven with Jesus.

Win/win, my friends...

They just need a do not call list like with telemarketers.

My mother called the cops on a Marine recruiter when he wouldn't take "no" or "get out of my house" for an answer when my brother was in high school.

WTF do you think you will be doing in the military? If you sign up in a time of war and are shocked that you are asked to go to war, then you have some serious issues with reality.

To be a recruiter, you give up your right to a soul.
