garage-door openers could go haywire
Intercontinental ballistic missiles, military satellites and the space shuttle are under the watchful eye of Air Force Space Command based at Peterson Air Force Base.

Add garage-door openers to the list.

Thousands of garage doors across Colorado Springs could go haywire when a new Air Force radio system powers up next month.

Transmissions will emanate from towers at Cheyenne Mountain, Peterson and Schriever Air Force bases, said Col. Fred Mooney, affecting houses within a seven-mile radius of each.

The Air Force’s new hand-held radios use the same frequency as many garage-door openers, jamming the signals and preventing the doors from opening, Mooney said.

At least the radios won’t be transmitting all the time.

“It was 24/7 before; now it’ll just be intermittent,” Mooney said.

Broadmoor-area residents weren’t so lucky last November, when the Air Force tested the radio signal for three straight days from the Cheyenne Mountain tower.
i'll be looking for the local meth scene to pick up.

"Umm...yeah, I'm not coming in today...I can't get out of my garage..."
"Are you still drunk, Steve?"
"No...no...no...it's the governments fault...."

Awesomness. I want a full report. If you can snap blurry camera phone pictures of death/dismemberment/public drunkeness/nudity, major bonus points will follow.
