And what defines what a legitimate candidate would be?

A politician doesn't have to solve anything. In fact, I would say those that think they can are LESS qualified. A politician needs to know how to interact with the people, understand what they want, how to recognize bad and good situations, and most importantly, how to defer to experts on things they don't know.

You know, all the qualities of leadership.
