I'm trying to set-up my new Minute 2. I'm using a new Performance Hurricane shock pump. The pump worked with out problems on my Swinger 4-way and on the SPV chamber (right side) of the Minute 2. When I hooked up the pump to the left side it bleed all the air out and now I am unable to pressurize the left leg. Anybody have some suggestions on what I need to do to get some air into the left side?

the shrader valve core is not properly adjusted. The same thing happened on my Swinger shock.

You need the $.75 shrader valve core tool to tighten/loosen the valve to the proper setting.

Thanks for the idea but that didn't work. I pulled the valve out and it looks like the spring might be bad. I'll contact my LBS and Manitou and see if I can get a new one. Hopefully they won't make me send in the whole fork. Thanks again.

I didn't mean the spring was bad, sorry (though it might be but i highly doubt it. If it is, pull one out of a tube, they are the same thing). The height of the valve is VERY picky, so you have to find the right height (within about a quarter turn or so).

It took me about 10 minutes of fiddling with it to get it right. Play with it by going further in and further out until it holds air. It can be a little frustrating, but I can almost guarantee that's the problem.

Cool, I'll keep trying. I talked to my LBS and they said if I can't or if they can't get it to work they will just swap the whole fork out with another. Pesky little buggers that's for sure. I just got the bike Thursday and didn't have any problems with the swinger 4 way or the SPV side of the fork. Oh well 3 out of 4 ain't bad I guess. Thanks again!

no problem, good luck!

BTW, when I called Answer about it they practically cut me off as soon as I started talking, because I think they get this problem a lot! Sounds like a QC issue at the factory, but it's easily fixed.

Yet another reason to let your dealer handle the problem. Being a manufacturing engineer myself I like to hear what problems are reacurring in shipped products so that I can fix them on the production floor and save the company money

I agree on letting them know the problems on the production floor, but in this case, letting the dealer take care of it doesn't make any sense. He'd have to send the fork back and be without if for at least a week to use a $.75 tool to adjust the shrader valve core. Manitou definitely knows about the problem BTW.

When speaking to them about not being able to add air on my new swinger, which I got an adapter for, they said there was nothing available. I asked about the valve thing too since it all leaked out when removing the pump. They said it wasn't a problem. I filed the valve core down and it stopped. I see inconsistencies in the CNC machining done on the valves. I was a little disappointed in the way they blew my questions off. The shock is nice though. SPV is a good idea.
