Nah. I'm just tired because Wifey's pushing for a ridiculous timeline. We're not even 2 weeks into turning a room 90* (lights, TV mounting, appropriate electrical, a/v), re-painting 2 floors (including ceilings), installing built-in's, refacing a fireplace surround, new baseboards, tearing out part of a backsplash, installing new lights, whole bunch of drywall replacement w/ knockdown, and a couple hanging light fixtures. She is freaking out that it's "taking so long", despite it being a very normal timeline and we're comfortably on pace to be done with all the contractor work by Wed - 2 whole weeks. Baseboards will take me 2 more weekends, but she's freaking out on the "construction zone" we live in.

I'm not happy unless I'm working on projects constantly.

In the past 2 months I've (single-handedly):
- Built a laundry closet
- Remodeled 3 bathrooms
- Built a stone/concrete fire pit
- Built a swingset/sandbox from scratch
- Framed a second-story deck at a friends house

Not to mention all the car work for myself/others in that time period as well. I'm all about doing shit yourself, and genuinely love the feeling of satisfaction you get doing it. Money saved is a bonus, though I usually blow it on useless shit anyway :busted:

I'd rather ride my "bike" than do any of that stuff.

I do like mowing the lawn on my own, though. Just don't like trimming, only the mowing.

I have to believe you have an unmanned autonomous robot-mower that is guided by a dedicated, low orbit satellite array, which also beams lawn statistics to your i-watch, Tesla dashboard, the cloud and your top 4 lawn-care forums, all in real time.

If I could figure out how to get it to unlock and open the gate I'd be all over that. But instead CBJ has his, and I have this new toy:

New handlebar to replace my crash damaged one was supposed to be delivered by UPS today.

Tracking says it was delivered at 2pm to "UPS box"...Eff knows where that is...

edit: Effer had left it on top of our mailbox, which is 1/4 mile away and the road regularly has an issue with mailboxes being pried open, let alone a big box left on top in full view.

Tonight didn't suck, and it's only 7:15. Post work backyard trail exploring was......well, fucking amazing. Can't believe we've been here 2.5 years and didn't know about them.

Wife and kid are in Maine, beer and fire time, burgers about to go on grill. Why aren't I single again?

That looks like legit fun. Where is it?

Also, this evening is awesome. 70s and humidity in the 30s. Only happens once in a decade.

I've taken to calling my wife the manager. She doesn't know how to do it herself, doesn't care how long it should take, only knows when she wants it done. And that's the timeline I'm expected to stick to.

Its even more hilarious cause its true and she knows it.

just talked to the parents in maine tonight. apparently they've finally just changed the out of state quarantine rules to either negative test 72 hours before entry or you can get tested upon entry. dammit, now we have to reconsider making the schlep up there...hrmf.

need to ride bad. maybe i can get out for a quick one before lunch tomorrow, depending on how the t-storms shake out?

tree guys came and took 3 dead ones out that i was too nervous to fuck around with this afternoon. arborists are badass. that is all.

dammit @jonKranked - you reminded me i need to sharpen my chain.

Nowhere Man!
I built Fences around my Neighbor's Garden. She gave me Her old Honda Generator. I donated all my sprinklers, soaker hoses, and 2 50 foot hoses with nozzles to her efforts. I like hanging out with Carol. She is a good egg. Very smart. Always up for a challenge. Can smoke me in 10 to 12 moves at Chess every time.... Makes her own Top Round pastrami. Its Crazy good. Doesn't drink either....

I have no idea where I am
3.5 hours of some rocky up and down with 26 pounds. Only saw a couple on the trail and no one else until I passed through the campground. One camper was sitting in her SUV with it running and the AC blasting.

What's your target pack weight for AT?

Recommended base-weight for my pack is 15 pounds. I'm currently around 17.5. I know where I can lose 1.5 lbs, but still got some weight to shave. Starting pack weight would be 16 + 9 (4 days food and 1 L water). Trying to keep starting pack weight around 25 pounds with a fresh resupply.

I've got some time to work on it...

Wifey's about design; I'm responsible for implementation. Unfortunately she doesn't understand how long it takes to implement certain projects.

Ah yes, the HGTV effect. The women are "designers" and the guy the one in charge of making it happen.
