In a van.... down by the river
The desert at its finest. November... cold nights... warm days.

Quick Slickrock ride the first evening:

Amasa Back the next day...

LPS-Porc Rim the next day...

Then a little Fruita action the following day. First some of the goodness out at 18-Road. Who says Fruita trails are crowded? That's my Subaru.

Flowy Joe's Ridge:

I neglected to take any pictures on my cruise down The Kessel Run... but I was trying to make it in less than 8 parsecs. :D

Drove out to Loma to hit up something secret. Yeah - it was crowded there too.

My secret trail:

And it WAS Moore Fun.

Good weekend... very good.

A few of us desert dwellers went two weeks ago.
Good fun, very cold. Rode the rim, UPS to Porc singletrack. Anything higher was snowed in.
Rode Fruita as well, found some great trails there.

Oops, didn't completely read your post SS!

Kessel is a blast, huh? Could not get enough of that trail, even though I was completely exhausted by that point. I felt like a complete geek though when I had to explain the name to the other guys I was riding with...

Nice trip! The trails out at 18 road (it is also called the bookcliffs, no?) are some of the most fun I have ever had on a bike.

i don't what sort of porn site lh4.ggpht.com is but my work filter blocks all the images.
Hmmm... it's Goggle's photo section. I can't say I blame them for

btw, a parsec is a measure of distance, not time. :bonk: :nerd:
Yeah - everything you ever wanted to know... and more about the Han Solo claim:

Han Solo claimed that his Millennium Falcon "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs". A parsec is a unit of distance, not time. Solo was not referring directly to his ship's speed when he made this claim. Instead, he was referring to the shorter route he was able to travel by skirting the nearby Maw black hole cluster, thus making the run in under the standard distance, he may have indirectly referred to the speed of his ship here because to be able to go closer to black hole and still be able to get out of its gravitational pull you will need to be able to go faster. However, parsec relates to time in that a shorter distance equals a shorter time at the same speed. By moving closer to the black holes, Solo managed to cut the distance down to about 11.5 parsecs. The smuggler, BoShek, actually beat Solo's record in his ship, Infinity, but without cargo to weigh him down.

The actual Kessel run is around 18 parsecs. And there's a black hole cluster near 18-Road. :nerd:

Moore Fun is awesome. Wish I had more time to ride in both Moab and Fruita. Heck, wish I had more time just to ride. Nice pics S.S.

I like Amasa Back. Some of my buddies cleaned EVERYTHING in that switchback corner on their 6" travel Fezzari trail bikes. EVERYTHING. Every drop, and the step up rock jump. Crazy.

I took a burly terd above there. Stomach went insane right as we got to that corner. I've been traumatized by it. Too many friggin power bars in one day.
