anyone tried this monster (looking?) 4 bar?

http://www.dabombbike.com/img/2004-news/moabbomb-sil.jpg

for years i've been looking for something like the ventana bruha (sp?), but with a horst link 4 bar rather the seat stay they use (pig to pedal).

one concern i have from the pic is the rake of the seat (back) can it be straightened to flat or even tipped forward a bit?

be intereted in any reviews especially ease of pedaling and rear end stiffness. been riding a bullit for years as a comparison.

That bike is actually pretty cool. If it didnt say "DA BOMB" it would be alot better. Why cant it just say "Jones" or something?

Horst link just refers to the pivot infront of and below the dropout, right? And I think _JM explained the four bar concept alot better than I can, but doesn't it just mean four pieces? I'll find that post.

That's a 4bar. Konas are also 4-bars, but non-horst style 4bars. This one being a Horst bike, is indisputably 4-bar.

4 bars = chainstay, seatstay, rocker link, shock. Count 'em up. Doesn't matter which stay the pivot is on, unless you happen to draw a paycheck from the Specialized marketing dept.

I'm interested cause I have an RFX and it rides great but is a bit light weight.
So I stick to the Bullit.
According to Turner the Horst pivot allows for a flat spot in the travel of the
suspension, wether its a walking beam or swing link it doesn't matter,
however you can make it pedal real mushy too like an uzzi slx (swing link).

Thanks DBR, I was trying to say that but I was really hungry and got sidetracked...

Actually, while we're being anal, the 4th bar is the FRAME. If you want to count the shock it actually becomes a 6-bar (which technically what all these "4-bars" are, and "single pivots" are actually 4-bars, AND bikes like the Astrix are 8-bars)

They appear to be identical products, sold under different names.
I think I remember reading about DaBomb, that the partners had a falling out, and went their own ways, hence you see 2 companies with similar stuff, coming out of the same factory. This could all be BS, but I am sure I read something along those lines a while ago.
