Back in the day when I had a powdercoat setup, I could go from remove old to finished in about 4-5 hours. Rattle can is a bitch, at least you had somewhat clean environment. Mine is more "shade tree mechanic"

The clear said to apply within an hour, so I did. But I think the color was too heavy in spots and when I put the clear over, it shifted. I had what looked like saggy skin on the seat stay, down tube, and top tube. I just sanded flush, light color, then light clear. It was scratched up within the hour.

Regular bondo doesn't do well at 400, also the powder doesn't want to stick to it because it doesn't hold a charge like metal. There is actually a high temp metal filler for powder.

There was a Diamondback downhill frame that had some bondo on the swingarm from the factory. About the size of a quarter on the chain stay. I sent them pics, they denied it.

I'll never forget it. Nobody remembers the hemp green with gold metal flake I did on Marshall's Endless, but EVERYBODY remembers that 5 Spot.

Seriously my personal favorite was the orange with prismatic metal flake I did on my old Bullit for Bullitboy(?).

Gawd, I wish. It was a nice deep green and I had a 24k gold metal flake clear that I shot over. It was so not his style and yet he ended up loving it. In the shade, it just looked green, but in the sunlight, it exploded with bling. Adam's bike I shot Midnight blue with prismatic metal flake. Both turned out awesome, I did 8 of the original 25 frames Brew built.

<edit> There was a thread here on both their frames. Both had been ridden raw for a while and were in pretty bad shape. They cleaned up nice, though.

Do you remember what year that was ? I met them when I moved to Asheville in 2001. So I may have seen those frames. But then again my memory of such details is not that great, thanks DH racing, er, I mean Obama.

Pinkbike still has my endless.

Limelight metalic, that was a limited run, I had less than a pound of that color. I trimmed the decals to show as much color as possible.
