hey the other day I pumped out my piston on the right side of my hayes and the modulation blows on that side...piston barely even moves. the other side...the side withough the hose conncection, modulates just fine.

any ideas of how I can get the other side to modulate better?

when I pumped the piston out all I did was push it back in...should I have done sutmhing else?

thanks

Start with getting your terms straight.

Modulation is the degree of incremental control you have over braking power - a brake with really bad modulation would be either full on or full off. A brake with good modulation lets you vary finger pressure to get any degree of braking power you want between the two extremes.

Your question sounds as though the piston you pushed back in does not come out when you squeeze the brake lever. Was it by any chance cocked when you forced it back into the cylinder? Or do I misunderstand your question?

you got itbut I fixed it by putting a 13mm wrench in the opening of the caliper and pushing on the separate side while pumping the lever...took a while to get it out but it works not.

thanks man and sorry bout me and my insignificant knowledge of the terms...you learn something new every day :D
