Went out with the wife last night, as has become something of a tradition. It's amazingly dead the night of new years day. Hit a couple of our favorite places and they were all practically empty, parking was easy, and zero traffic. I highly recommend it. Had a fantastic night. But now it's back to pulling oars on the slave ship, and I am le tired.

Not too pleased to be back at it after 10 days off. At least it appears that my boss is out of the office today. So that's pretty neat.

Hello, my beautiful friends. <3 Today is a company holiday but I am working anyway, because work. At least it'll be an abbreviated day and I keep the PTO in my bank.

Anyway, 2200 yard swim before work, and definitely feeling a little beat up from a weekend of skiing. Run this afternoon.

Morning Monkies winter in Montana is in full swing again. Temperatures near zero for much of the week but at least the winds have died down and most roads are open again. No gym today, I am saving my delicate body for aggressive workouts Tuesday and Thursday when I will do 4 laps in the pool. Gnar.

I was going take Wednesday off as well but now we are having our annual top secret "directional" teaser video conference for 2017.

Home from the big road trip. Finished off with Miami > Savannah > Knoxville > Brooklyn. Weather in Florida was great and the Atlantic was 77F. I had brought my bike but I had to prepare a presentation for a job interview which ended up taking up a lot of my time.

Have not checked or even attempted to read my emails since leaving, too. It appears that I have about 450 new mails to read. :twitch:

Porn is like coffee, there shouldn't be any poop in it.
I try to check the forecast so as to avoid golden showers, too.

I'm out the door in a minute or two, to grab a few last runs at Mary Jane then join the stream of cars headed Denver-bound. Per Google Maps the suckage is confined to westbound I-70 at the moment (plus in Denver proper) but I'm mentally prepared to deal.

Had an interesting weekend to say the least... Friday night my truck was broken into and all my ski gear minus actual skis/poles was stolen. Boots, jacket, helmet, goggles, avy gear, pack, and like 5 pair of nice sunglasses including my favorite riding ones. Facking thieves. Truck was parked in my carport, right out behind my house. Thanks to #whiteprivilege I have either old or duplicate of darn near everything, but it still sucks and is a pain in the ass. Homeowner's insurance should cover it so I'll get new stuff, but dang. There's a couple items I can't really replace, like the sweet ski face mask that I made myself, for instance.

Last day before 2017 at work starts in earnest. Pissing rain so trails are finally cancelled for the season--was a good run. Moved some dirt at our jumps a couple days ago so that needs shaping and a good slap. Already got a long list of dirt to move, shit to build, trail to cut. Starting this afternoon...

Thoughts? I found the plot a bit murky and the acting was a bit overenthusiastic. It just didn't grab me and pull me into the story.

Nothing I would take a Date to (if I ever get one) if it makes the big screen.

In hell. Welcome!
Morning. No worky today, yay. Had a good ride with a friend but trails are a mixed bag now - not enough snow/ice to enjoy studded tires (and much slippage on rocks), too much ice to ride without studded tires (with some completely unrideabru sections). /coolstorybro

Went for a fantastic fatbike Ride this morning. The sun is shining, and the trails were in glorious shape. Only trouble was I chose the wrong direction to ride them. I'll know for next time.

Have a sitter coming over in a bit so the wife and I can go for an xc ski.

In the mean time I've taken my littlest son to the park to toboggan and try out dh skiing (I'll be the lift), but he's been in full meltdown mode for the past 30 minutes. Just standing there, screaming and crying.

Went for a short hike-a-beer after work in the dark. Haven't been to this spot in a while, its nice to see that no one has messed with the communal shed stool.

Feeling a little better. Decided to play racquetball, pulled a muscle in my shoulder with in five minutes, switched to left hand. Played surprisingly well left handed for another ten minutes or so before a bunch of muscles in my legs started to cramp. I suspect cold medicine is causing havoc to my electrolyte balance. Did fuckall for the rest of the day as I had few other options. Fucking salt mine tomorrow.

Wifey got an Echo Dot doohickey for Hanukkah. It sure is a neato widget.
That is all.
A. I. Is progressing by leaps and bounds.
Scary.
If you're gonna murder someone, do it somewhere else. The Echo might get subpoenaed to squeal on you.

Side note: Sold my Legend DH bike today. Little sad after the last few years, but looking forward to getting my '16 Legend together.
