One of my best employees just resigned today as he is moving back to Iceland pressured by the girlfriend after they had their first child. Not the best way to start off but I hope the best for the guy he has been a valuable part of the team.

Sick yesterday and now the wife is sick. At least I am back feeling better.

One last cold ass day before a nice stretch of reasonable weather. Fun will be had in the woods.

What's up, peanuts? Today is the first time in probably 15 years that I could actually take the MLK holiday off from work, but here I am in the office anyway. Figure I'd punch the clock for a few hours and save the PTO day. There's a spattering of cars in the garage, so I'm not the only one here.

Morning Monkeys.

Had a cool visit with the man child and Lil Man. I will order the 160mm cranks today so we can ride next weekend.

Also finally got my ghetto drone in the mail, so I crashed that a lot yesterday. That was fun. I actually got pretty good towards the end. For $28, it looks like it will be fun for a little while.

<edit> I couldn't get the non drive side pedal off his bike. Truvativ Hussefelt and the stupid pedal insert unscrews with the damn pedal.

In hell. Welcome!
Ooww. It is properly cold here this morning and a few below-freezing days should follow. Ice riding should be good.
Also, bottle of Plymouth gin had one last martini in it last night, gotta refill today.

Drove to work this morning, only to realize the bossman asked me to spend the day at our head office, to cover for him. Wish I had seen the message before leaving, I would have spent 10 minutes driving vs 45. Oh well.

Cold as tits here.

Saw the Come From Away musical on Saturday, which revolved around the events in Gander Newfoundland, the week after 9/11. It was really good and entertaining, even with the topic at hand.

Daughter 101.5 fever...poor kiddo.
Mine is at @ 103.5 and she already missed a week with strep in December.

I was at Federal jury duty for the past week in Helena :

In this case if a few bags off money 'disappear" off an Armored Car truck and you had been living paycheck to paycheck while working for said armored car company then taking stolen money across state line is a federal crime.

Attempting to launder bags of 20s at casinos and TDA online trading accounts while spending $150K or so in 2 months including taking a call girl you met in Vegas to the real Paris is a crime against humanity when you don't have a pot to piss in and a newish $28K car loan...

Blue collar crime doesn't pay, but jury duty does...

That's a pretty interesting story, especially the part about Paris. I don't think I have the gonads to pull something like that off!

This story makes sitting in I-70 ski traffic sound perfectly reasonable.

Neighborhood kid charity is having a holiday celebration, while I’m here sick in bed. So much music I hate over the PA system one block over. Horns and saxophone solos everywhere.

And my 2 year old neighbor is stomp running in her living room, which shares a common wall and with my bedroom.

Guess it’s time for my Carcass playlist.

I remember trying to strike up a conversation with a cute bartender at Trve Brewing (a brewery known for being über metal) years ago, telling her I remember really enjoying Carcass’ Heartwork album when it was released. She laughed and told me it was “cute that I liked pop metal”.

at which point you politely tell...that is cool....im not into bands where the singer sounds like he is trying to pass a 68 chrysler imperial through his pee hole....

To be fair, it was the most polished and “produced” thing they had released. At the time it was still pretty brutal, but I can see someone being a bit snobby about it in retrospect (not that I agree).

Whatever. My bestie just showed up with coffee and bacon covered waffles. I’m feeling better already.

Lunch at Eagle BBQ. 22.7k vert thus far. I figure a few more runs then a bit of relaxing in non-ski boots before picking the kids up from their lessons.
