Arrived at ten am with the power out and no one here. Boss said we should go eat an expensed brunch for some reason while everyone called us continuously. So I am full up and haven't done shit yet.

y u no time off before new jurb
Because I would have just been a nervous wreck swimming in self doubt the whole time. That's not enjoyable time off. Better to dive in head first IMO.
I've been gone awhile; What's this about a new job?
TL;DR: Told airline to piss off, joined hospital to work on medical equipment.

BBQ is going adequately. Hooray!

Did 30 miles on the new bike that I've never ridden before. Always a good idea. Actually it rode great and I like it a lot- stiff aluminum frame with squishy tires to cushion the horrible roads. Still need to figure out the ideal way to new work, but I've got an eeb and a road bike ready to go.

Dumbass... :D
It's never had issues starting before and it's not like it's been slow to start. I didn't drive it for 5 days, but even the Vette could last a week without dying.

Guessing a new battery will be purchased on the way home. My guess is the AAA price is a bit much, so just a jump start, thanks.

Holy fuck, $260 for a battery. My RV house batteries were more than that, but they are 200Ah. I was thinking $150 tops, guess it's been a minute.

Lawn mower still out for lunch.

But I put a new spark plug in, drained the old gas. Also took the tank and carb off, none of the hoses appear to be clogged. Primer bulb thing still gets gas.

I tried testing for spark, but that was a failed task. Was thinking maybe it is the coil, but I hail married and can get the thing to start and run on brake cleaner for a moment.

So maybe the carb is junked inside?

Varnished from bad fuel (ethanol) only takes a month or so now with more additives every year, disassemble the carb, soak it in boiling hot water and simple green for 20 minutes, clean the bowl, needle, and seat and reassemble, mow some shit

Carb is bad if you used ethanol fuel.

This is the carb, has two bolts on the bottom.

Just undo them (they are friggin tight) and clean everything?

I've never taken one apart before..

yep. just make a note of the ratio screws and how many turns they were in or out so you can get them back in the right spot so you can at least get it started to tune it either lean or rich, when you open the bowl you will probably see varnishing

Open it up and see. The problem with ethanol is it draws water out of the air which causes corrosion. Just replace the carb if it's grotty.
Yeah we'll see. A new carb is $60+ for this thing, unless I want to wait until the end of August for one from China.

Don't think I can wait until then, my yard will be an actual jungle by then.

Which sucks, I think we got this mower on a blowout for like $150. So any parts for it seem steep, relatively.

I have an ultrasonic cleaner and an electric kettle on my workbench just for this scenario

Put the money towards an electric mower? I really like not having to do jack squat as far as maintenance goes. I do get the blade sharpened once a decade. :homer:

$$$$

I looked at an Ego today, but it comes with a tiny battery that they (ego) says will run for 30 mins. The big battery is as much as the mower :brow:
