Sounds like you just need to fix the brakes you have. Killing a line shouldn't mean you need to spend $300-$400 on a new brake system...sama1ter said:i have a mags now, and the line broke, and they jsut dont feel right, right after they are bled....
shimano sponsorship im happy to be riding for HopeHeath Sherratt said:I ran them with the seven inch rotors for DH all season and if I wasn't sponsored by shimano this year I would ride them again
Steve Peat also only has 3 bolts holding the rotor on too.manhattanprjkt83 said:The mini will work ALRIGHT for the rear, as said above, if i remember correctly steve pete was running an M4/mini combo on the world cup circuit to save weight, and obviosly he is a ripper...if that means anything to you
Man, all i need is my fork and wheels and i get to ride 'em. The machine work and detail put into these brakes is just amazing. I honestly can't stop looking at them...Brian HCM#1 said:Thadda boy
he was going to get a WB, speeking of which my 05 DH and SC forks, and MRP guides all come next week, its gonna be like christmas in one big boxBrian HCM#1 said:An 888 is a nice fork.
Next week, I talked to Craig yesterday and he said the upper tubes should be back from anodizing this week. 2005 Avy fork :heart:ViolentVolante said:he was going to get a WB, speeking of which my 05 DH and SC forks, and MRP guides all come next week, its gonna be like christmas in one big box
when does your avalanche show up?
Too bad the '05 DH 2.0 is 8.4lbs and i didn't want to mess with 120mm spacing.ViolentVolante said:cant believe you went with an 888
are you getting the dual damper one for your fat ass? Ti springs too?Brian HCM#1 said:Next week, I talked to Craig yesterday and he said the upper tubes should be back from anodizing this week. 2005 Avy fork
Just something that nobody's brought up, and is a common misconception, two piston vs. four piston vs. six piston doesn't necessarily imply a certain amount of braking power. Hayes have 2 pistons, and Hope M6s have 6 pistons, but the Hayes pistons are huge and the M6 pistons are small, and the net result is that the Hayes have more raw braking power.sama1ter said:how will these work for dh? i ifigure hayes are 2 piston, and arnt 1 piece caliper, so they might do good?
Yep dual dampers, but steel springs. I was told I wouldn't feel the weight difference.ViolentVolante said:are you getting the dual damper one for your fat ass? Ti springs too?
Yes, so do the minis but they don't have eight inch rotors and have more modulation. I would say equal power when set up properly but more mod and less weight. If you could run eight inch rotors with them they would feel a lot more powerful.binary visions said:Just something that nobody's brought up, and is a common misconception, two piston vs. four piston vs. six piston doesn't necessarily imply a certain amount of braking power. I've never ridden Minis so I don't know about them, specifically.
I seriously doubt that the Minis have the same stopping power as the Hayes simply from a visual inspection of the piston size. The Hayes pistons are huge.Heath Sherratt said:Yes, so do the minis but they don't have eight inch rotors and have more modulation.
