I wonder how they are evaluated anyway......
If its anything like they do it in the US, they just bring out a big team of evaluators and have the unit do a bunch of specific tasks like, say, live fire drills or helicopter insertions or little ambushes...you know, basic war stuff. If the unit isnt proficient in enough areas, they get bad marks. Its not an uncommon thing really, but with the news being what it is, you know, they have to make it sound like all hell has broken loose.MMike said:http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/02/24/iraq.security/index.html

Baghdad alone 1000 deaths a month. 3/4s tortured to death or executed. Nice....three-quarters of the corpses stacked in the city's mortuary show evidence of gunshot wounds to the head or injuries caused by drill-bits or burning cigarettes. Much of the killing, he said, was carried out by Shia Muslim groups under the control of the Ministry of the Interior...
...figures show that last July the morgue alone received 1,100 bodies, about 900 of which bore evidence of torture or summary execution. The pattern prevailed throughout the year until December, when the number dropped to 780 bodies, about 400 of which had gunshot or torture wounds...
Sorry they got rid of Saddam cos he was?......Changleen said:More progress:

Saddam was bad, but these new thugs are no better. These guys simply have US backing (for now). Anyone see a never ending cycle here?DaveW said:Sorry they got rid of Saddam cos he was?......
please explain how Iraqi nationals defending their homeland from US military goon squads is "insurgency"Transcend said:I think I remember reading that the US puppet Gov't that had been installed was up to Saddaam's old tricks again. I guess they figure they need to stop the insurgency and this is the only way they are used to getting info?
the never ending cycle is UK/US imperialist control over the Middle East, bartered via port deals given in exchange for lots of access to petroleum, etc.Transcend said:Saddam was bad, but these new thugs are no better. Mujahedeen, Saddam etc etc?
What access do we have now that we didnt have before? If we wanted to buy Iraqi oil, we could have. Now we still must purchase it.particle bored said:the never ending cycle is UK/US imperialist control over the Middle East, bartered via port deals given in exchange for lots of access to petroleum, etc.
time to rub the sleep out of your eyes and stop blaming the victim.

While I buy that alot of this is "oil" motivated, its not as cut and dry as you'd like to believe.

Please read this entire thread again, before you start posting. The post you responded to may be a good start.
edit: Your posts don't even make any sense, they are simply regurgitated, anti-establishment, anti-government peacenik mumbo jumbo.
Bwaaaahahhaah!particle bored said:oh my.
you actually believe what Bush & Cheney tell you.
I'm sorry.
Actually, my extensive political education and journalistic background do, nitwit. If by "living in politics" and "being a lawyer" you mean asking for handouts near the courthouse, then I'd believe you. Otherwise, you are nothing more then a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist who needs to go away.particle bored said:when book and reader collide, and reader finds book lacking, it's usually NOT the book's fault.

so, being a moderator of a DH MTB website gives you amazing analytic insight that I don't possess, even though I have lived in politics most of my life.
yeah, you're one funny dude Transcend. you and Burley Kuntwipe.
Settle down mate, you'll get your arse canned from here if you don't pull your head in.particle bored said:when book and reader collide, and reader finds book lacking, it's usually NOT the book's fault.

Shouldn't you be awarding him points for creative use of your favourite word?valve bouncer said:Settle down mate, you'll get your arse canned from here if you don't pull your head in.
being a 3d rate DH scribe is neither political education nor journalism. it's fan droolery, plain & simple.Transcend said:Actually, my extensive political education and journalistic background do, nitwit. your staunch refusal to question your BELIEFS (not facts, as you don't mind them much) shows what a great mind you have (or haven't).Transcend said:His head is already firmly "in", it appears.
Sure thing, buttercup. You obviously know EVERYTHING about me.particle bored said:being a 3d rate DH scribe is neither political education nor journalism. it's fan droolery, plain & simple.
"handouts at the courthouse"? your ignorance of the world of lawyering is quite impressively huge!
Burly Surly to Girly Shirley is creative, Burley Kuntwipe is pretty stupid especially when that word isn't even censored. Oh well on with the show. Best day on the PD forum for yonks.fluff said:Shouldn't you be awarding him points for creative use of your favourite word?
I don't know ANYthing about you beyond your posts and your somewhat third-string DH wannabe scribing that can't even come close to what happens at Dirt magazine or Alex Rankin's vids. while such DH reporting probably is valuable I wonder about its accuracy given the inaccuracy you ply in here.Transcend said:Sure thing, buttercup. Nice try with the ninja edit btw.
"creative" is what I'm not after. "ridiculous pseudo-comic juvenilia insult" is more what I was seeking. trying to keep pace with Shirley herself.valve bouncer said:Burly Surly to Girly Shirley is creative, Burley Kuntwipe is pretty stupid especially when that word isn't even censored.
