Climate change denial lives on in a lot of people’s behaviours and purchasing choices long after they have acknowledged the scientific reality. It’s the second cognative dissonance layer we all need to break through to actually have a chance of making a difference.

Submitting a job application with the dept of defense for a missle silo keeper job tomorrow......

I don't even...tears. laughter. I have no logical biological response to that other than killkillkill

I wonder if I can NFT a virtual porn bot and pimp it out. At least it would provide a service.

From what I can tell, you can literally do anything you want with NFTs right now. Because it's stupidity preying on people who are somehow even stupider, all at the benefit of the people who need it the least. It's real estate 2006, and nigerian princes 2003

I just helped my son move into their new place. 2 bed 2 bath apartment for $1675/month :twitch:

He wants to buy a place soon. Not sure how the hell you save for a place paying $400 more than our mortgage.

@stoney is pretty spot on IMHO.

I suppose it will depend on how far over asking price the "winner" goes, but in that neighborhood that home is an easy 3/4 million in this absolute shit show of a market if it's in semi respectable condition. Probably not to hard to turn a modest profit, even on that home, assuming the market doesn't tank in the next 6 months.
Not listed yet, but "coming soon™". Things seem like they've kind of slowed down here and its the "slow" selling season, so I'm super curious to see what they list it for and what it actually sells for.

So either:
  • There's no "god"
  • God was trying to smite the Twelve Tribes people and got a little carried away and didn't notice that a thousand other households of "believers" accidentally got smited too.

I don't even know how I came across it but saw a 10 acre lot for sale on the far east side of King County for what seems to be a bargain compared to the rest of the local insanity. I could afford to buy it, and if I sold my place could probably build a modest house a little larger than my current one for a lot less than what I could sell this place for. It would be close to good trails and sufficiently hilly to have my own small trail system. Commute would suck but current WFH situation could extend beyond pandemic at least part time. There has to be something wrong with it as single acre lots go for half as much. Seems like a crazy idea but also crazy not to check it out.

of course it is

I didn't know that previously but........fucking of course it is. PBB has the wrong history in just every way.
When I first moved here I just remembered seeing places I recognized from COPS. Just before I moved, they did 2 weeks straight of Portland and I thought "what sort of shit hole am I moving to?" Then I saw a bus stop bench with the crazy police videos guy running for reelection and put it all together.
