I thought Clint's house was crazy, but damn. This is the last phase of our hood and not in the HOA. Its next door to the house that was unfinished until a few years ago (started in '02, finished in '19)

$600k in the sticks, ugh.

garage doors are cool and all but you know what would be really cool?

garage doors with vinyl siding eyelids...
You won't be cool until your garage has angry vinyl siding eyelids.

Riding the baggage carousel.
Couple doors up, across the street. Was on the market for a day. If one believes the neighborhood gossip, went for 45k over asking. :disgust1:

So, this one Yahoo 'ad' encapsulates everything that is wrong with JH real estate.

Funny that I saw that and thought about this, where 5 million dollars becomes the haggle realm

Both of these really put that word 'conservation' in some perspective eh?

‘Conservation’ in this context really means ‘only to be used or gazed upon by the owners, all others will be prosecuted’. There might be a little of a wildlife habitat argument, but that’s about it.

Same with Wilderness areas and National Parks before them when you know the history :)

According to the lady that was sitting next to us at dinner last night, it's "the Chinese and their shell companies".

That's probably more accurate than what's in that kgw piece.

Here, I just found an extra 4k homes and that doesn't even include gresham or oswego

I don't get it.
The bank "owns" the home and calls the Sheriff in and boom, escorted out at gunpoint.
Private citizen does the same thing they very well could end up in jail?

Yup your system is broken.

you've seen what our private citizens do with guns

Besides who gives a fuck. These people ruin the country
Nathan Jones, a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
Without getting into the morals of home ownership / renting / landlords...

My point being the imbalance of power.
State backed author has no problem removing squatters.
Private citizen - please fill out this paperwork, we will be back to you in 12 - 16 weeks.
If they can prove ownership, then the playing field should be the same.
Trespassing is trespassing - no?

i believe the banks have to follow largely the same process, however they have the resources and staffing on hand to do it.

edit: most banks aren't state backed either.

That was a bad analogy on my part as the the occupants of the home at one time had legal right to be there. When you have no legal right to be there, is it not trespassing?
I don't understand how they would not be removed as such.

And even then, cops operate on "whenever they feel like it"

Neither system is good. Portland has some specific firearm laws too that would negate militia evictions.

Most eviction laws exist for good reason though. They're not perfect but they also came out of some really bad practices.

But berkshire hathaway? I could not possibly give fewer fucks.

in this case BH is just the listing agent, they don't own the property.

Stink bombs. Lots and lots of anonymously thrown stink bombs. And turn off water and power if possible.
And this is why eviction laws exist.

Got a renter that started inviting the blacks over? I've just decided they're squatters and turned off their water.

Let me rephrase........someone who uses berkshire hathaway in portland.....l could not give fewer fucks about that person's woes
