average daily workers in the RenCen across 2024 so far make up just 20 percent of what was seen in 2019. The data also shows that foot traffic in total, including visitors, was just 38.5 percent across all of 2023 compared to 2019.
And to get around the paywall: https://archive.ph/sc5hvI don’t have access to more than the first two paragraphs but I can see where this is going. Someone tell me if there’s a surprise ending.
Expecting all those new Trump tariffs to bring in tons of foreign goods, are they?one of the reasons I retired to the southern coast.
We will soon be the largest port from san fran to seattle,
They are calling for an influx of 8k jobs into a town of 10k and real estate inventory is already scarce. I figure if I can develop at least two properties a year (which is easy) over the next 3 years I should be able to take advantage of the prices, inventory and influx considering how cheap it is to build and develop here.
beats me, I dont follow politics, I do know they are already bumping up the height of all the rail tunnels to fit double stack container cars and currently dredging the bay and moving in equipment so there will be a good influx of buyers soon if not nowExpecting all those new Trump tariffs to bring in tons of foreign goods, are they?
The Coos Bay infastructure is hard to deny. It's hard to get in and out of the coast via roads though. Maybe thats a good thing.one of the reasons I retired to the southern coast.

looks like they're going to lean on the rail network. which is a very prudent decision imoThe Coos Bay infastructure is hard to deny. It's hard to get in and out of the coast via roads though. Maybe thats a good thing.
Hmmm... sounds like socialism.looks like they're going to lean on the rail network. which is a very prudent decision imo
Oregon Looks to Build West Coast's First Ship-to-Rail Port Terminal
Roughly two million import and export containers are expected to move through the Port of Coos Bay each year once the new terminal is up and running.www.supplychainbrain.com
Partney Construction has been working on the rails, tunnels and bridges for the last year as the first phase. They are also putting in several sidings in spots they have room and really beefing up the terminals for logs, pellets and chips. The dredge has been working in the bay for most of the year and the jetty work has been going on for about a year now placing massive boulders and riprap on both sides. The airport is going to expand with another airline for portland or seatac for a hop as well as the ship building yard is building two more dry docks. Seems it is all happening pretty quick. My realtors have already seen a large influx of buyers but with not much inventory to be sold so I figured I should make use of my time while the demand is high.looks like they're going to lean on the rail network. which is a very prudent decision imo

So is going to be the new port where we won't import the cargo due to the tariffs?Partney Construction has been working on the rails, tunnels and bridges for the last year as the first phase. all the current port operations are exports, two log yards, 3 chip terminals, and pellet terminal, thus far the only incoming terminal is oil/fuel and not sure where it comes from. I would imagine the container terminal would be relieving traffic for the rest of the west coast ports. So is going to be the new port where we won't import the cargo due to the tariffs?

It’s possible it was trashed inside and would need extensive work to get it back to market value.Wow, this just sold on the 8th and I didn't see any signs posted. It sold for $371,000 which is a good $100k bellow what anything else in this part of the hood has listed for. I'm curious what happened.
We had a short walkies and I noticed it looked empty and had a lock box on the door.

Michael Jordan sells Chicago mansion at seep discount after 12 years
After languishing on the market for more than a decade, Michael Jordan's 32,000-square-foot mansion in Highland Park, Illinois has finally sold at a dramatically reduced price.www.dailymail.co.uk
My guess is he's happy as hell to have it off his books.Poor Michael Jordan. How will he cope, financially?
I realize you're being facetious, but MJ actually has been very wise with his money unlike so many ex-athletes. from that very home fire-sale article he turned a cool $2.7 billion (!) profit on his stake in the Hornets, and Nike is still paying him $260 million… per year.Poor Michael Jordan. How will he cope, financially?
Just north of Miami sits a string of barrier islands home to some of the most lavish luxury condos on the planet. But that may not be the case for much longer if Mother Nature has anything to say about it. Many of those structures are sinking at an “unexpected” rate, according to a new study—including the 641-foot tall Porsche Design tower
And on that day, nothing will be lost.
hopefully it falls into the ocean when its time comes. would make an interesting artificial reef. And on that day, nothing will be lost.
