In a van.... down by the river
My little trip today...

Starts high on the road headed to the pass.

A bit of steep snow to surmount.

A bit of hike-a-bike right out of the gate.

A bit of this was rideable.

Some of this was rideable.

Hmmm... this... not so much.

Mmmm... yeah. None of this was rideable.

Hey! A little more rideable stuff.

From here down... almost ALL rideable.

Still some turns to be had on the Tuning Fork?

Ahhh... Herman Gulch. Only one endo. Lots of roots. Lots of brake-burning DH. Oh so fine...

High point was rumored to be 13,300. It sure FELT like it could've been. :D

ha! I've had those rides where you hike more than ride....they frustrate me.

Are you wearing manpris?

Is this one of those pictures that doesn't look as bad as it really is? That is, if you're going DOWN it.
Yah - most of the rocks you see in the trail were big AND loose... and the consequences of going over the edge (the slope was probably 45*) into the talus would dissuade most mortals from trying to ride down it...

We, of course, had to hike UP it. :D

Edit: Here's a photo of that section from a distance... you can see it cutting across the steep mountain on the right side of the pic.
