Who's got 'em?

mine is drinking my coffee alone, outside on the patio with my thoughts. Then I make the rounds in cyberspace & my day is off & running.

hmm, my morning ritual is to always set my alarm for much earlier than i desire to get up. seeing as how i'm single and sleep alone, this leads to the morning cursing and sneering at said alarm clock. somehow i manage to fall asleep until i realize that i have to get up or else i'll be late to work. about half the week i make it to work early or on time, the rest of the week (like today) i stroll in later, but usually before most everybody else. maybe one of these days i'll get in the morning habit of eating a consistent breakfast. oops.

During the summer I get up between 8 and 10 depending on how late I stayed up. Usually grab a pack of poptarts and a large glass of milk and almost always start checking out what i missed the previous night on the forums.

During school I get up at 6, take a shower get out by 6:10, go downstairs, get my poptarts and a glass of milk, leisurely eat while watching the news on tv. Then promptly leave at 6:45 for the bus to school if I dont get a ride from friends.

If I'm sleeping alone, I get up about a half hour to 45 minutes earlier than I need to. Make a cup of coffee and sit out on my porch and drink it slowly - gives me some time to wake up, some time to collect my thoughts, and I enjoy the ritual of coffee, especially when I can be outdoors and listen to the birds/early morning sounds. Making it, the smell before you can drink it, waiting for it to cool off... I don't like my mornings to be rushed.

If I'm not sleeping alone, I usually make a bid for morning nookie ;)

Hit Snooze 2x's, get up go downstairs, give Dog a dog biscuit, drop mud while dog lets himself out of doggie door. Up stairs, turn on iron, while Iron heats up do a short work out, Iron pants. Bring pants back into my closet, turn on shower get rest of clothes (socks, boxers, shirt, tie). Get in shower, get dressed, put on tie. Get dog off my bed, which he jumps up on while I am in shower. Feed dog and give him water, close doggy door. Open garage door, get in Jeep, close garage, drive to work.

Once at work, start flavored coffee pot, walk into my office, log onto AIM, open drop safe and empty contents. Give contents to my accounting clerk to prepare deposit. Swap back-up tapes, go get freshly brewed coffee, sit down check personal e-mail, then work e-mail, then catch up on my forums. Then I guess I should work. :help:

When I get home, cat boxes must be cleaned immediately and bed made before anything else can be done. Sucks having OCD and ADD

Wake up annoyed, (Radio Disney annoys the shiz out of me, but it gets me up every time), then it's NPR all the way to work (slightly more informative than the Daily Show).

Get to gym by 5:25am. Work out until 7am. Shower, brush chops. Arrive at work by 7:30.

Drink lots of coffee until 9am. Not a relaxing way to awake in the morning, but at least it gets me going.

aint got none! I do too many differnt things in the morning to have a habbit. options:

1- get up, throw clothing on, hit starbucks, on the road for site visits
2- get up, at least put shorts on, brew javahhhhhh, turn on computer, type to make a living
3- get up, get all cleaned up and clothed, hit bagel shop (yes, coffee is good there!), off to REI for a AM shift.

the best part is that there is no "on time" for numbers 1 and 2, but i find that I get up earlier than I would have for my desk job (normally 1/2 hour late- I hated that place)

Kick whoever is in my bed out. Ring the service bell (sometimes twice  ) and wait for the servants to arrive. Make my way to the pool and do a couple of laps. Then I recieve my sponge bath from Ms. Klum. After that I am carried to the breakfast nook and eat a extravagant breakfast prepapred by a world class chef (Wolfgang, Emerill, Charles, Julia, whomever.....). I then retire to the Library to for my morning briefing of important worldly topics by James Lehrner (I can sometimes skip this step thanks to N8 and his morning Klan reports, thanks dude :thumb: ). After that Ned and Roland come over for our training ride. Then I have my morning Virgin.... By the time I am done with her it is early afternoon....... Life was so much simpler before I became a Rock Star......

My morning ritual is as follows:

4:30am- Demon child next door wakes me up with its shrieking. This devil baby's mother complains about me playing ping pong in my backyard on Saturday nights at like 9:30 pm saying it's vibrating her whole house, and yet her stupid baby, that came straight from the deepest bowels of hell screams and yells every morning, and plays on its stupid piano toy, at 4 freaking 30 in the am!

7:40 am- Alarm wakes me up. A shower depends on how quick I am out of bed. If I'm slow to get up, the shower will be taken by my roommate. She takes a long time in the shower.

7:55- I usually poo at this time.

8:05-8:20 - Dressed and out the door

9:00am- Arrive at work, eat some oatmeal or whatever I bought at the little store at work.

Then my work day usually ends at 7 or 7:30 pm. After which on alternate days I will either:

Climb, or Booze.

Then it starts all over again. I must do something about that baby dammit.

This thread made me wonder...

Anyone here NOT using an alarm clock to wake up?

Haven't use one for the past four years or so, except when I need to get up stupid early... but for the most part I just seam to wake up at about the same time all the time, even if I went to bed really late...

It funny how tough a morning can be when woken up by an alarm, just 5 minutes more sleep and waking up alarmless make a big difference in my case!

Summer: Wake up around 11-12 unless I was feeling ambitious the night befeore and set an alarm, get dressed and go ride usually.

School Year: Alarm goes off set 10 mins early so I can snooze it twice. Wake up, stumble to shower, go to sleep in shower, get out, put in contacts, go downstairs and get through about 1/4 bowl of cereal before my ride gets there. Go to school, make up sleep in 1st and 2nd period.

Needless to say I don't do mornings.

I used to be able to wake up about ten minutes before my alarm without fail. Now for the past couple weeks, the alarm wakes me up. I don't know if it's how tired I am, or my activities.

If I go out the night before, or drink a lot, I will wake up early no matter what.

It's funny, I can't count on waking up if I don't set my alarm. However, my alarm only actually wakes me up about once every 2-3 weeks. When I set the alarm, I wake up between 10 and 30 minutes before it goes off (no matter what time I set it for). If I don't set it, though, sometimes I won't wake up until late.

I had noticed that trend too when decided to not set the alarm, I can count on one hand the times when I woke up a bit late... so its all good!

Of course I don;t have a job where I need to be in at exactly a certain time... that helps!

Set the alarm earlier enough to catch a quick morning ride. Don't go hit snooze for 45 minutes until my wife has had enough. Stumble into the bath room for a leak. Start the shower, while water is warming, brush my teeth, jump in shower, get out and dry off, get dressed. Let the dogs out. Either make a lunch or just grab a granola bar, and a coke, sometimes a glass of OJ. I'm too lazy to make coffee in the morning. And I'm to lazy to prepare it in the evening to start in the morning. Which is funny because my mother in-law runs a coffee shop, and has given us really nice coffee makers, and espresso machines. I pretty much get all the coffee I want. Anyway, then I fight traffic for 40 minutes. Walk to my cube about 7:30am and log on. Check my mail. Open browser, and I'm off!

LOL that is my same schedule except that i am not single. so it is my wife who does not have a paying job that is cursing and sneering. And i am always the last one to get to work. ( but i am a partner so who cares) Also you can get a consistant breakfast. Just as soon as you get to work, say lets go get some breakfast. i do it a couple of times a week. then we all leave work go get some grub, come back and get all the work done so you can leave.
Or you could leave early to make up for the fact that you were late.

Usually don't need alarm because we have a 4yo and a 2yo, each of whom is capable of waking us up between 4am and 6am. We do set the alarm in case we're able to get an earlybird kid back to sleep. . . that can often lead to everyone sleeping late.

My wife and I take turns getting cleaned up and dressed for work while the other one dresses the kids and maybe gives them some food (they can eat at daycare if they're on time). I drop 'em off, ease through my 15-minute suburban commute, log on and check out some electronics sales while I eat my breakfast (usually granola, yogurt, taco, whatever). Nothing interesting happens here for at least the first 30 minutes of my day.

If a kid wakes up real early and won't be quiet, I might take him out for donuts and get myself a taco and my wife a kolache.

On weekends I'm almost always up at 5 or 6 ready to roll. It has been that way as long as I can remember, even before all the fishing and hunting reinforced it. If the 4yo wakes up early too, I might take him fishing or we'll make pancakes together. If the little one is up early he gets to play with the big one's toys w/out getting jumped!
